2018 FIFA WORLD CUP - BRAZIL TEAM

Here we take a look at Brazil's World Cup squad and the other things it will be handy to know about the five-time winners.

Brazil's World Cup squad - the 23 names:

Alisson, Ederson, Cassio; Marcelo, Danilo, Filipe Luis, Fagner, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Miranda, Pedro Geromel; Willian, Fernandinho, Paulinho, Casemiro, Philippe Coutinho, Renato Augusto, Fred; Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, Roberto Firmino, Douglas Costa, Taison.

The Coach - Tite (full name: Adenor Leonardo Bacchi). A bold, confident communicator revered in Brazil, he has brought back the swagger after the national horror of 7-1.

The Star Unquestionably Neymar, who has the chawho has the charisma and skills to become an international great, which he already thinks he is.

Brazil were the first team to clinch qualification for Russia and had memorable wins on the way, including a 3-0 success over Argentina in the same Mineirao stadium of the 2014 semi-final humiliation.
It took the appointment of Tite in September 2016 to revive Brazil. Under his helm, there have been 13 wins, three draws and only one loss - in a friendly against Argentina.

  • Key player: Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain) - Should be at the peak of his game aged 26 in Russia, the forward will have his best chance to overthrow Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo if Brazil win.

That being said, If you look at the impressive strength in depth this current Brazil squad boast compared to years gone by, you might be pleasantly surprised by the progress made by Tite and co.

Plenty have criticised Brazil for a lack of quality in recent years, but this team could really cause problems at the World Cup this summer.
